Lebanese Tourist killed while changing drivers on Florida's Turnpike

Orlando Sentinel –

A man was killed Friday when he got out of a car on the shoulder of Florida’s Turnpike in south Osceola County and was struck by a passing trailer, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Nicholas Ibrahim, 36, of Lebanon, and Abdul Aziz Al Enezi, 37, of Kuwait were coming from Miami and pulled over to change drivers on the northbound turnpike when Ibrahim was hit by the trailer portion of a tractor-trailer, authorities said.

Ibrahim had walked around the back of the 2016 Fiat from the passenger side and was at the driver’s door about 9:15 a.m. when he was hit. The trailer also struck the left side of the Fiat, troopers said.

Neither Al Enezi nor the truck driver, Carlos Brito, 57, of Miami was hurt.
